Excursion
The venue is very close to Mt. Fuji, which is an active stratovolcano. It is a Special Place of Scenic Beauty, a historic site which was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site on June 22nd, 2013. It is possible to climb Mt. Fuji, fully or partially. Miyabe will help people with the arrangements.
We will have social events and sightseeing on 6-7 Sep.
Fuji Five Lakes on 6th
We will hire a bus, leave the center in the morning on 6th Sep and go around Fuji Five Lakes. These lakes are formed by previous eruptions of Mt. Fuji. You can see Mt. Fuji from there, feel old Japanese atmosphere (unlike Tokyo) and eat traditional Japanese cuisine.
Schedule:
9:30 leave the venue
10:00 visit a sake brewerie, and free time at Kawaguchi lake (enjoy
scenery, buy souvenir, etc.)
12:00 lunch
13:00 go around other Fuji five lakes
15:00 leave Fuji five lakes area
18:00 arrive at hotel
In the morning, we visit a Japanese sake brewerie and take some tour about how to make sake. we can taste it after the tour.
In the afternoon, we go around Fuji five lakes by bus. We stop at Motosu lake and hike about an hour to see one of the most beautiful sceneries of Mt. Fuji, which is printed in 1,000 JPY bill. For details, see here
If the weather is bad, we go to Narusawa cave instead. Inside the cave is covered with ice throughout the year, so we can enjoy the natural cool air.
Shimoda
In the evening on 6th Sep, we will go to Shimoda. We will stay at an Onsen Ryokan (traditional hotel) in Shimoda for one night, and leave around at noon on 7th Sep. The bus will go to a train station and then to the Shonan Village center.
